The radical wing of the Afro-American Society occupies Willard Straight Hall. After a number of Delta Upsilon members try to retake the building, the students arm themselves. "Kill All Fraternity Pigs" is scrawled inside. Delta Upsilon receives bomb threats, Chi Psi is damaged by fire, and at Lambda Chi Alpha, a rock is thrown through the window of the Mitchell Room. IFC urges "rational settlement of disputes." Brothers keep a 24-hour vigil, but the moment passes without further incident.
