Cornell President Hunter Rawlings III announces what becomes known as the North Campus Initiative, to require all frosh students to live on North Campus. At the time, it was feared this would greatly disadvantage West Campus fraternities like Lambda Chi Alpha— Edgemoor is one of the farthest chapter houses from North. Lambda Chi Alpha is able to maintain and even expand its numbers as the plan is implemented over the next five years.
